Funerary stele The basalt stele is a funerary monument and was found built into a Roman era structure. It is about 1.25 meters high and 64 cm wide. The single line Luwian inscription on it identifies the owner as "Ziti, the sun-blessed person" and ends with a curse against anyone who damages it. A date in the 8th century BCE is suggested. The stele is in the Anatolian Civilizations Museum in Ankara. |
