Stele fragment

Late Hittite style basalt stele fragment displays a commonly encountered dining scene of a female and male. Contrary to other similar scene on this stele the female is seated on the left. The fragment is about 42 cm high and 61 cm wide. Stylistically is is roughly dated to 8th century BCE. There is no information about its find place. It has entered into the collection of New York Metropolitan Museum in 1891.
