Quellgrotte Stele (BOĞAZKÖY 12)

The rectangular limestone stele with the hieroglyphic inscriptions is about 70 cm high and 40 cm wide. It was excavated in 1968 by the so-called Quellgrotte ("fountain-cave") by the southwest corner of the Great temple area. Incised writing on the stele indicates a dedication for the divine spring by a king of Isuwa which was a vassal kingdom of the Hittites. The stele is on display in the Anatolian Civilizations Museum in Ankara.
